Diary of a Cosmonaut

Slept poorly last night. Today the ground decided to run the “Astrozond” experiment. For this we had to launch a shiny cylinder — a probe — from the station and make several sextant measurements of its angular position relative to known stars as it moves away. They explain nothing, just say — do it. I got angry. The whole day was hectic. Yesterday I had pressure under my rib, and today my back and heart ache. I’m writing before bed; my head feels heavy. Work on the dissertation provides some calm.

I like flying with the cargo ship around — it’s cozy, we put all the extras in there. Tomorrow is medicine again. And two more months to go. Just don’t crack up or get sick.
