Diary of a Cosmonaut

The crews who will go to the station after us arrived — Titov, Strekalov, Lyakhov, Serebrov, Alexandrov. We went to the steam bath with them and talked about the flight. The next day there was a meeting with specialists on ship and station systems, and another session with the crews. They all want to know: What’s the most important thing on a long-duration flight? How do you break out of a “fixated” state? How should you build your relationship with Mission Control? That same day they flew out. For the first time I went out for an evening walk in the city, walked for 40 minutes and got tired. When I run in the gym now, it’s getting easier — the load doesn’t press down on my legs as much.
